Helping Others Make It Everyday NFP(H.O.M.E) is a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering underserved individuals and families through direct service, community safety initiatives, youth development, and job readiness programs. H.O.M.E exists to meet immediate needs while creating pathways to long-term stability, resilience, and self sufficiency.

  • Chicago’s most underserved neighborhoods face intersecting challenges: food insecurity, homelessness, violence, youth disengagement, unemployment, and untreated trauma. H.O.M.E provides hollistic community-driven solutions that addresses both urgent needs and root causes.

  • Residents in Chicago’s South and West side neighborhoods and it’s surrounding areas experience:

    • Food and daily essentials insecurity affecting 1 in 4 children in low-income areas

    • Over 59,000 individuals experiencing homelessness

    • Presistent gun violence and community trauma

    • Graduates rates below 70% in many underserved schools

    • High unemployment, especially for returning citizens

    These challenges are compounded by fragmented services and limited access to coordinated support. H.O.M.E was created to close these gaps.

    With lived experience in overcoming homelessness, gun violence, abuse, and adversity, Carolyn leads H.O.M.E with honesty, authencity, accountability, and deep community trust. She brings over a decade of experience in community outreach , violence prevention, and program development.

    H.O.M.E is supported by volunteers, community partners, and advisors committed to ethical governance and mission-driven leadership.
